The world's leading fireworks manufacturers consider the HSBC Celebration of Light international fireworks competition to be the most prestigious events of its kind in the world and an exciting arena where they can unveil the latest pyro-musical techniques and the most innovative fireworks materials.

Wednesday, July 25 — Spain
Saturday, July 28 — Canada
Wednesday, August 1 — China
Saturday, August 4 — Grande Finale
Each show is approximately 25 minutes.
Location: English Bay, Vancouver
Start time: 10:00 p.m. rain or shine
Best viewing points: English Bay, Kitsilano, Vanier Park, Jericho Beach, West Vancouver. The event is free to watch from public parks and beaches.
Music simulcast begins at 10:00 p.m. on radio station ROCK 101 (101.1 FM).
Estimated annual attendance: 1.4 million people.

Safety tips
- Don't dig holes in the beach. Sand pits cause accidents in the dark.
- Keep glass off the beach.
- Clean up your spot and take garbage with you.
- Bring a flashlight so you can see the ground and avoid accidents in the dark.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
- High tides are expected. Watch for incoming tides – your spot close to the water may change during the evening.
- Report lost children to the nearest lifeguard station.
- Choose a meeting spot in case you get lost.
- Boaters, read about boating safety.
- Respect the Vancouver neighbourhoods that welcome the fireworks – keep noise levels down and do not leave litter on the streets.
